The original LandShark was created back in 2001. My great friend, and motorhead genius, Mark Sitton, is the one that got me hooked on the 1984-1992 Lincoln Mark VII series. Financial difficulties caused the original Shark to be parted out and sold in pieces. This new project has evolved from an original 1985 Lincoln Mark VII LSC. I purchased the engineless, white rolling shell from good friends in Alabama. Paul and Jason, of SVPU in Odenville, did some of the original work on the car body before my purchase. They installed coil springs and dropped the original airbag setup. Also, they were prepping the car for a five speed transmission so they installed the clutch pedal assembly and made center hump modifications. While at SVPU they converted the 1985 wiring harness to a 1987 version to allow for fuel injection setup. Jumping forward to 2005, my friend Danny, has been helping me along the way with the paint and body work in his spare time. The car has slowly evolved into what you see on these pages. The LandShark2 will hopefully be on the road soon in the new form of a twin-turbo 351w powered Lincoln Mark VII. Its intended use is that of an everyday driver with air conditioning and all the needed amenities. The last two years have seen the slow process of gathering parts and pieces on a tight budget. When available, many used parts have been purchased for this project. With the Lincoln Mark VII being a fox-body chassis, many Mustang pieces from 79-93 fit the Lincoln. Some things are a direct bolt-on. However, it has been my experience that way too many things need custom fit and fabrication. Regardless of make or model, building performance cars can be quite a challenge. Sometimes we learn as we go along and sometimes you know more than the person on the other end of the phone line. I can't tell you how many times Mark and I have laughed over the common response: "Looks like you're gonna have to do some grinding". So please follow along to watch the progress of the LS2... Check out the photo galleries... There's much, much more information on the way...
